At times in life you shouldn’t do what you want to do but what you ought to .This is not to discourage people to do what they want to but rather it is more of the fact that one shouldn’t do things that is greedy ,satisfying one's own pride and ambitions which consequently has a negative effect on others .

This novel named Revolution 2020 comprises characters :Raghav ,Gopal and Aarti .Two childhood friends who love the same girl .

Why did Gopal become such a person ?

-Gopal had experienced failure ,the feeling of inferiority complex ,losing his childhood best friend to one of his closest friends, lost father etc.

We pitied him till the time he was silent or perhaps humble .He tried his best to avoid Aarti and went though the awful experience in Kota ,couldn’t satisfy and fulfill his fathers dream thus in a way ,that killed him or led to his fathers demise .

But its not totally Gopals fault as such ,he tried his best even when he wanted to give up several times.This is how life seems to be working ,parents pressurise their children to opt something which they don’t want to or can’t so that it will enable them to get out of this poverty or web.They don’t quite take into the consideration of their child’s wants ,but it is actually sad to see how they for instance in this novel ,Gopal’s father worked his ass off ,took loans and spend all the money paying his tuition fees when it should have been spent on curing his deteriorating health condition .

There was no one along with them ,he lost his mother when he was a kid and Aarti got into a relationship with Raghav .

Admiration for Raghav .

-Raghav can be called as the hero but there is no denial that Gopal is also a hero for as what he did at the end of the novel .

Even when Gopal stole cake from Aarti’s bag ,he whispered to Gopal “Confess “.This shows how much he appreciated and valued honesty .He joined engineering as he was expected but he couldn’t keep himself away from his true passion that is journalism .He was such a person who believed that change should come and at least one person should sacrifice for it ,believes in honesty ,fairness and justice .

Though he lost his job ,he opened his own set up with the name “revolution 2020 “and was fully consumed with his work to reveal to people the real and hidden informations“. It is because of he and his team ‘s rigorous hard work and conviction of proving MLA guilty and many other injustices ,corruption that doomed MLA to jail .

He was humble ,whatever he did was never personal and trusted people easily .Didnt take his words personally as well .Raghav never changed ,he was an activist and continues to be a truthful person .

LOVE.

Whom did Aarti really loved ?I feel that she loved Raghav from the bottom of her heart ignoring the fact that if she really loved then she wouldn’t have cheated .Justifications cannot be given .Raghav also loved her dearly its just that he couldn’t give time for her .Coming to Gopal ,yes we do feel sad for him because he couldn’t win her heart as he aimed to but that’s how life is .We don’t always get what we want or how we want ,he should have been keen with his decision of maintaining distance from her but he couldn’t .He should have been happy with the fact that Aarti was actually still his best friend .And whatever they did without Raghav’s knowledge is very disturbing and heart wrenching .

Gopal loved her dearly to the point he almost got her heart but after learning and self realisation ,he leaves her for her sake .He believes he is a bad person .He no longer thinks that he has achieved a lot in life ,he becomes a humble person .Appreciating Raghav and his conviction for change .He loved her ,he wanted best for her and gives her hand to Raghav .

Importance of being humble .

Money is not everything .One shouldn’t Take pride in the respect which one is getting because of ones wealth and not because of ones deed .Change should begin from you ,give your heart and soul to it ,you can achieve it .

BE A GOOD PERSON BEFORE ANYTHING ELSE !!!
